Hotel limpio, habitaciones amplias, pero muy caro para lo que ofrece

This is a budget hotel that I normally would not go for. We only chose this hotel because our stay coincided with a marathon in Hakodate and this was one of a few hotels that still had available rooms. I didn’t have high expectations given its relatively low review score but I still felt disappointed with my stay. The room was older than I expected although it was clean. We stayed in a Japanese-style room and the futons were so thin that I felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I had stayed at a Japanese-style room several times at other hotels. This was the first time that I had trouble sleeping. What made me feel worse was that they hiked the room rate because of the marathon, and I had to pay more than 40,000 Japanese yen for 1 night in such an old and uncomfortable room. The only positive thing was their friendly staff. A Mandarin-speaking girl helped us with the check-in and explained everything clearly. She also helped us booked a taxi as we had an early flight the next morning. I really appreciated that.

All good, excellent location for exploring Hakodate. Staff recommended Times parking although there were cheaper options closer. Some minor damage to walls in rooms/bathroom stop this place form being excellent. A fine stay but nothing special, all good!
